do you have a photo you’ve been dreaming of turning into a drawing?

i do commissions and would love to create something special for you. here’s how the process works:

 

• step 1: get in touch

send me an email and let me know what you’re looking for—size, subject matter, and when you’d like it completed.

• step 2: choosing the photo

the best drawings come from the best photos. i usually work in a portrait style (shoulders or neck up). the clearer the photo, the more hyperrealistic the drawing will be. if you only have older or less detailed photos, the final result will still be realistic, but not quite hyperrealistic.

• step 3: finalizing the image

we’ll work together to select the photo. i’ll make sure you love the composition and that i feel confident it will translate beautifully into a drawing.

• step 4: timing & cost

once we’ve chosen the image, i’ll let you know how long the drawing will take and what the cost will be. commissions can range from about 8 hours (most pets) to 80+ hours (complex people portraits). i’ll also let you know if i have a waiting list, since that can affect timing.

 

• step 5: the drawing process

once i begin, you’ll receive regular progress updates. your feedback is an important part of the process!

 

• timeline for gifts

if your drawing is intended as a gift, please reach out at least two months in advance to ensure i can complete it on time.

 

• payment

a 50% deposit is required to begin your commission, with the balance due upon completion.
